Abstract

A recent study conducted at Indiana University aimed to identify profiles of adults based on their reasons for engaging in physical activity. The study found four distinct clusters of individuals with different motivations for exercise, including positive, negative, autonomous-focused, and control-focused clusters. The research suggests that individuals with a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic goals for physical activity may have higher levels of motivation and engagement in physical activity compared to those with solely intrinsic goals. This study has been peer-reviewed and offers valuable insights into understanding the complex motivations behind physical activity participation. [Extracted from the article]
