Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Tehran University of Medical Sciences focused on the accuracy of facial emotion recognition in the Iranian community. The study involved 142 participants aged 20 to 50, who were asked to identify emotions in faces from the Radboud face database. Results showed that emotional faces were recognized by around 84% of participants, with the highest accuracy for happy faces and the lowest for neutral faces. The study aimed to create a valid emotional face database for future research and applications in clinical and nonclinical populations, including individuals with autism spectrum disorder.
