Abstract

Researchers from Xi'an Jiaotong University in China have explored the potential synergies between metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and cold atmospheric plasmas (CAPs) for cancer treatment. MOFs offer unique characteristics that make them promising for cancer therapy, but concerns about biosafety have hindered their clinical use. The study suggests that combining MOFs with CAPs could enhance treatment efficacy by utilizing MOFs as cargo-carriers, nano-enzymes, and magnetic agents. This research, published in the Journal of Materials Chemistry B, highlights a novel approach that may revolutionize the field of plasma medicine and expand the applications of MOFs in cancer control.
