Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto examined the clinical characteristics and outcomes of patients with non-infectious uveitis (NIU) who were treated with or without systemic immunomodulatory therapy (IMT). The study included 914 NIU patients, with a higher proportion of bilateral cases and chronic uveitis in the IMT group. Visual acuity improved significantly in both groups, with baseline visual acuity and panuveitis identified as predictors of final vision outcomes. This research provides valuable insights into the management and outcomes of NIU patients receiving different treatment approaches. [Extracted from the article]
