Abstract

Researchers from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology - RMIT University conducted a study on the impact of antiquated rostering practices on medical scientists in the Australian public healthcare sector. The study found that manual rostering systems and management decisions negatively affect the wellbeing of medical scientists, leading to issues such as absenteeism and turnover. By integrating evidence-based human resource management (EBHRM), the LAMP model, and HR analytics, the researchers suggest that line managers can make more informed decisions to support the wellbeing of medical scientists. This research contributes to HRM theory and emphasizes the importance of data-driven decision-making in addressing rostering challenges in healthcare settings. [Extracted from the article]
