Abstract
- A study conducted at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania, focused on quantifying ankle laxity using an arthrometer to assess anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL) involvement in lateral ankle sprains. The research aimed to objectively identify anterior translation of the ankle and its relationship to clinical diagnosis, finding significant differences in ankle sprain groups. The study concluded that an arthrometer is a valuable tool in orthopedic examination, providing a more objective assessment of joint laxity and aiding in patient recovery processes.
