Researchers at the University of Madras conducted a study on the anticancer potential of crude ethanolic seed extract from Mucuna pruriens on gastric cancer cells (AGS). The extract showed significant anticancer activity, inducing cell death, chromatin condensation, apoptotic cell death, and cell cycle arrest in the AGS cell line. The study suggests that Mucuna pruriens seed extract could be a potential source for developing novel drugs with anticancer properties.
