Abstract

The article discusses the challenges of managing infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), highlighting the long treatment lag and diagnostic delays faced by patients. The research group proposes key recommendations to mitigate treatment lag, including fostering health literacy among parents, providing active surveillance during routine visits, improving healthcare providers' knowledge, scaling telehealth services, and advocating for essential medicines inclusion. These recommendations aim to enhance the care and outcomes of children with IESS in LMICs, aligning with the WHO's global action plan for neurological disorders. [Extracted from the article]
