- Ajinomoto Co. Inc. has been granted a patent for a method involving the enzymatic sulfurylation of alcohols and amines using a bacterium from the family Enterobacteriaceae. This method allows for the production of sulfated derivatives of substrates without the use of animal sources, potentially reducing costs and simplifying the process.
