Abstract

Research from Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University in China has developed a mouse model of acute retinal artery ischemia using silicone wire embolization. The study aimed to simulate retinal ischemic processes to aid in developing neuroprotective agents for retinal artery occlusion. The research highlighted transcriptomic differences between this model and others, showing potential for further therapeutic research in retinal artery occlusion. This study provides valuable insights into the pathophysiological processes of retinal ischemia and reperfusion, offering a novel tool for screening pathogenic genes in this condition.
