Abstract

A recent study conducted at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, focused on the use of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) for the early detection of malignant breast microcalcifications in women suspected of having breast cancer. The study found that DBT demonstrated high sensitivity (100%) and specificity (85.7%) in detecting malignant microcalcifications, with an overall accuracy of 97.1%. The researchers concluded that DBT could be a valuable tool for the early detection of breast cancer, particularly in cases involving microcalcifications. [Extracted from the article]
