Abstract

A recent study conducted at Shandong Agricultural University in Tai'an, People's Republic of China, focused on the inhibitory effects of tylvalosin tartrate on the replication stage of the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) life cycle. Tylvalosin tartrate, a macrolide antibiotic, was found to suppress the replication of PRRSV in swine herds, providing new insights into the treatment of PRRS. The research, which has been peer-reviewed, sheds light on the potential use of tylvalosin tartrate in controlling this deadly disease that affects pigs and impacts the global swine industry.
