Abstract
- A study conducted at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Pondicherry, India, focused on the prevalence of functional vitamin B12 deficiency and elevated serum vitamin B12 levels among Indian patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). The research found that despite elevated serum vitamin B12 levels, a significant proportion of MPN patients had functional vitamin B12 deficiency. The study recommended evaluating for functional deficiency regardless of serum vitamin B12 levels and suggested further research on the potential benefits of vitamin B12 replacement in MPN patients with functional deficiency.
