Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Mashhad, Iran, explored the prevalence of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection and its association with Pap smear findings among women undergoing gynecological screening. The study found that the overall HPV prevalence was 37.5%, with high-risk genotypes identified in one-fourth of the study population. The research highlights the importance of HPV prevention programs in this population and found no direct link between bacterial vaginosis or candida infection and HPV positivity.
