Progress of Research on Extraction, Function and Application of Moringa oleifera Polyphenols.

Moringa oleifera is a perennial medicinal and edible plant, and polyphenols as one of its main active ingredients. This study reviews the current status of development of the polyphenol types and contents of different parts, polyphenol extraction methods, polyphenol efficacy, and polyphenol applications of Moringa oleifera. Additionally, the current research on the antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, anticancer, and hypoglycemic properties of polyphenols from Moringa oleifera is critically examined.
