Abstract
- This document contains summaries of four different texts. The first text, "Bibliographical Records," discusses Lauren Benton's book on imperial violence and its impact on the development of international law. The second text, "Habsburger und Osmanen," explores the bilateral history between the Habsburg Empire and the Ottoman Empire. The third text, "Hitler's Personal Prisoner," is a biography of Martin Niemöller and his opposition to the Nazi regime. The fourth text, "England and the Thirty Years' War," examines English involvement in the war and the extent of their participation. The book "Uniformzwang" by Michael Hochedlinger explores the "militarization" of dynastic representation and family portraits in the Habsburg Monarchy from 1750 to 1815. The book provides a detailed analysis of the effects of this militarization on courtly portraiture and the history of uniforms in the Austrian army. Manfred Görtemaker's biography of Rudolf Hess provides a comprehensive account of his life and explores his motivations and role within the Nazi Party. The book "Fascists, Fabricators and Fantasists: Anti-Semitism in South Africa from 1948 to the Present" objectively analyzes anti-Semitism in South Africa during and after the Apartheid era, exploring its roots and decline over time. It also delves into contemporary issues such as anti-Zionism and the conflict between Israel and Palestine in the context of South African politics [Extracted from the article]
