Abstract

Florida utilities are working to restore power to customers who were affected by Hurricane Milton. While many customers will have their power restored by early next week, those in the hardest hit areas of Tampa Bay may have to wait until Thursday. Over 50,000 utility workers from the US and Canada are assisting with repairs. President Joe Biden has pledged to prioritize the restoration efforts, and the damage from the hurricane could reach $50 billion. Tampa Electric aims to restore power to all customers in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties by Thursday, while Florida Power & Light is targeting 90% restoration by Monday night. Duke Energy Florida is also working to restore power, with the majority of customers expected to have power by Sunday. [Extracted from the article]
