Abstract

New research from Children's Hospital Zagreb in Croatia suggests that genetic factors play a significant role in the development of childhood cancer. Unlike adult cancers, pediatric cancers are more likely to have genetic variants that predispose individuals to the disease. Advances in molecular technologies have allowed for a "genotype-first" approach to diagnosing cancer predisposition syndromes, which can lead to tailored treatment, improved clinical outcomes, optimized surveillance, and better genetic counseling for affected children and their families. This research has been peer-reviewed and provides valuable insights into the genetic basis of childhood cancer. [Extracted from the article]
