Abstract

A recent study conducted at Wasit University in Iraq examined the levels of alkaline phosphatase, calcium, and vitamin D3 in patients with celiac disease. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that affects the small intestine and is characterized by an intolerance to gluten. The study found that patients with celiac disease had higher levels of alkaline phosphatase and lower levels of calcium and vitamin D3 compared to the control group. These findings suggest that these biochemical parameters can be used as indicators of health risks and bone health in patients with celiac disease. [Extracted from the article]
