Abstract
- A recent report from the University of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia discusses the role of a gamer's distress profile in the development of Internet Gaming Disorder (IGD). The study found that different profiles of distress, including depression, anxiety, and stress, were associated with higher levels of IGD. The researchers identified three distinct distress profiles among gamers: High-Distress Comorbidity, Medium-Distress Comorbidity, and Low-Distress Comorbidity. The findings suggest that targeting distress behaviors, regardless of their specific nature, may be more effective in treating IGD than focusing on individual symptoms. [Extracted from the article]
