Abstract

A new study conducted in Chiba, Japan, has evaluated the efficacy of 0.5 mg dienogest tablets in treating premenstrual syndrome (PMS)-like symptoms during the treatment of dysmenorrhea. The study compared the effects of dienogest tablets with a low-dose estrogen-progestin combination. The results showed that dienogest was more effective in relieving PMS-like symptoms, with 89.7% of patients reporting complete resolution of symptoms at 6 months, compared to 47.1% in the low-dose estrogen-progestin group. However, further research is needed to determine the effectiveness of dienogest tablets in treating premenstrual disorders diagnosed through standard methods. [Extracted from the article]
