Abstract

Researchers from Assiut University in Egypt have conducted a study on the antibacterial and healing potential of a nanocomposite material called Zn-Al LDHs/CA. The nanocomposite was tested on wounds and burns induced in earthworms as a model for human skin. The results showed that the Zn-Al LDHs/CA nanocomposite had antibacterial activity and promoted faster healing compared to untreated wounds and burns. This research suggests that the nanocomposite has potential for use in wound and burn care. [Extracted from the article]
