Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Guangzhou Medical University aimed to investigate the genetic causes of right aortic arch (RAA) in fetuses using chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) and whole exome sequencing (WES). The study found that fetuses with RAA frequently have good outcomes after birth, but those with chromosomal abnormalities and genetic syndromes have a poor prognosis. CMA and WES were shown to be effective diagnostic tools for identifying the genetic etiology of RAA, particularly in cases of non-isolated RAA. The researchers recommend that all fetuses with RAA should undergo CMA to aid in prenatal diagnosis and counseling. [Extracted from the article]
