Abstract

A study conducted at Assiut University in Egypt examined the impact of different stent designs on carotid artery stenting, a procedure used for carotid revascularization. The study included 728 patients with atherosclerotic carotid stenosis who underwent carotid artery stenting. The researchers found that the stent design did not significantly affect the risk of complications, such as stroke, but further studies are needed to explore this topic. The study concluded that carotid artery stenting is a safe alternative to carotid endarterectomy for selected patients. [Extracted from the article]
