Abstract

A recent report published by researchers from Kunming University of Science and Technology in China discusses the use of green carbon dots (CDs) in cancer gene therapy. Green CDs, derived from natural sources like fruits and vegetables, offer advantages such as cost-effectiveness, stability, simplicity, safety, and environmental friendliness. The report explores the synthesis methods and renewable sources of green CDs, as well as their optical features and various biological applications, including bioimaging, biosensing, drug/gene delivery, antimicrobial and antiviral effects, cancer diagnosis, and pharmaceutical formulations. The research highlights the versatility and potential of green CDs in biomedical and biotechnological applications. [Extracted from the article]
