Abstract
- Researchers from Shenzhen Luohu People's Hospital in China conducted a multicenter cross-sectional study to explore the risk factors of delivery room (DR) resuscitation and assess its association with neonatal outcomes in very preterm infants (VPIs) with a gestational age (GA) of less than 32 weeks. The study included 683 VPIs admitted to neonatal intensive care units in six tertiary hospitals in Shenzhen. The results showed that low GA and no use of antenatal steroids (ANS) increased the risk of high-intensity DR resuscitation interventions. Additionally, endotracheal intubation (ETT) was associated with an increased risk of adverse clinical outcomes, including bronchopulmonary dysplasia and early-onset sepsis.
