Abstract
- This article discusses the use of oral histories as a teaching tool to increase knowledge and awareness about oppression and diversity. The authors describe how oral histories can provide a deeper understanding of historical events and psychological phenomena, as well as fill in gaps in traditional narratives. They provide examples of oral history collections and discuss strategies for providing context and making connections between the oral histories and course content. The authors emphasize the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives and teaching about racial trauma and resilience. [Extracted from the article]
