Abstract

This article reports on a case of a 34-year-old male with type 1 diabetes who presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain. The patient was diagnosed with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and was found to have intussusception, a rare condition in adults. The patient was treated with conservative measures and his DKA resolved after three days of treatment. The article discusses the potential for DKA complicated with intussusception to resolve without surgical intervention and highlights the importance of timely identification of intussusception in DKA patients.
