Abstract

The article, titled "From the Editor," discusses the editor's experience working on Poe Studies and expresses gratitude to various individuals involved in the publication. The current volume of Poe Studies includes a special feature on Poe and science, as well as translations of the work of Spanish author Ramón Gómez de la Serna y Puig and Japanese scholar Toshio Yagi. The essays in the special feature explore Poe's relationship to ecology, germ theory, and nineteenth-century racializing science, with connections to contemporary crises such as climate change and police brutality. The upcoming volume will focus on Poe's influence on minoritized authors, including women writers and writers of color. [Extracted from the article]
