Abstract

This article describes a herbaceous garden in inner Melbourne that celebrates the changing seasons. The garden features a variety of plants, including quince, coneflowers, iris, silver grass, Russian sage, and catmint. The owners of the property transformed the garden from a neglected space into a vibrant and informal oasis. The garden is divided into five zones, with courtyards and a back garden that includes a plunge pool and a basketball area. The planting is dense and playful, with perennials and grasses creating a dynamic and ever-changing landscape. The front garden features hardscaping with rocks and gravel, and the courtyards have statement trees and groundcover plants. The garden provides a calming and private space for the owners to enjoy throughout the year. [Extracted from the article]
