Abstract

The Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS) is a program in Australia that provides vocational training and support to doctors working in rural, remote, and First Nations communities. The program primarily enrolls international medical graduates (IMGs) who have several years of clinical experience. It uses a model of remote supervision and support, including online webinars and asynchronous online learning resources. The RVTS has been successful in reaching rural areas in all states and territories and has been aligned with major national rural workforce strategies in Australia. This supplement provides evidence of the program's outcomes and effectiveness. [Extracted from the article]
