Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Fuzhou University in Fujian, China, focuses on solving the problem of transportation between metro stations and final destinations, known as the "first/last mile" problem. The study proposes a model for designing microcirculation bus routes and coordinating schedules, taking into account the impact of shared bicycles. The researchers developed an improved genetic algorithm to solve the model and evaluated it using a case study near a metro station in Shenzhen. The results showed that considering the impact of shared bicycles led to more accurate passenger demand and reduced operating costs for public transport enterprises. The study concludes that optimal results are achieved when weight factors are set at 0.6 and 0.4 for the travel time cost of passengers and the operating cost of public transport enterprises, respectively.
