Abstract

A recent report from The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in the United Kingdom highlights the effectiveness of a pharmacist-led clinic in optimizing lipid-lowering therapy for patients with vascular or diabetic foot conditions. The study found that a pharmacist-led service significantly improved the utilization of high-intensity statins and other lipid-lowering therapies, as well as the attainment of lipid goals. This service was particularly beneficial for patients in an area with high levels of social deprivation. The research provides valuable insights into the management of cardiovascular disease and diabetes complications in these patient populations. [Extracted from the article]
