Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke, the German Center for Diabetes Research, ETH Zurich, and the University of Cambridge has discovered a novel regulator of glucose transport in adipose tissue. The study focused on the role of the adapter protein PICALM in white adipose tissue and its impact on metabolic health. The researchers found that reduced expression of PICALM improved insulin sensitivity and glucose transport in fat cells. These findings could potentially lead to the development of new therapeutic approaches for treating type 2 diabetes and obesity. [Extracted from the article]
