A study conducted at Inha University Hospital in South Korea compared the outcomes of single-port robotic areolar (SPRA) thyroid surgery and bilateral axillary breast approach (BABA) thyroid surgery over the course of one year. The study found that SPRA was a less invasive method than BABA, with shorter hospital stays, lower postoperative drain amounts, and lower thyroglobulin levels after total thyroidectomy.
