Abstract

A study conducted at Inha University Hospital in South Korea compared the outcomes of single-port robotic areolar (SPRA) thyroid surgery and bilateral axillary breast approach (BABA) thyroid surgery over the course of one year. The study found that SPRA was a less invasive method than BABA, with shorter hospital stays, lower postoperative drain amounts, and lower thyroglobulin levels after total thyroidectomy. The research did not find significant differences in postoperative complications between the two methods. This study provides new insights into the use of robotics in thyroid surgery.
