Abstract

A study conducted at Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca, Morocco, examined the outcomes of open anterior subscapularis release surgery in children with unresolved neonatal brachial plexus palsy (NBPP). The study included 32 patients aged over 12 months who underwent the procedure. The results showed significant improvements in shoulder motion, particularly in abduction and lateral rotation, as well as in hand-to-mouth and hand-to-head movements. The study concluded that even children beyond 4 years of age and those with more severe injuries experienced functional recovery. [Extracted from the article]
