Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion examined U.S. adolescents' exposure to alcohol marketing on various types of media, including the internet. The study found that more than half of the adolescents reported being sometimes or often exposed to alcohol marketing. Hispanic adolescents had a higher likelihood of reporting exposure to alcohol marketing compared to non-Hispanic White adolescents, and exposure increased with age. The researchers suggest that monitoring alcohol marketing exposure, including on the internet, can help reduce racial/ethnic disparities in underage drinking risk factors.
