Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Taibah University in Saudi Arabia examined the beliefs and knowledge of physical therapists in Saudi Arabia regarding the management of patellofemoral pain (PFP) and their alignment with current Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs). The study found that while physical therapists had greater confidence in their knowledge when following CPGs, over 70% of respondents held beliefs about risk factors, prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment that were inconsistent with CPGs. This highlights a significant knowledge gap that may impact the quality of patient care. The researchers recommend enhancing education and dissemination efforts to improve adherence to evidence-based practices among physical therapists in Saudi Arabia. [Extracted from the article]
