Abstract

Researchers from the Harbin Institute of Technology in China have developed a cost-effective, self-powered disinfection system that can simultaneously disinfect air and drinking water. The system is based on a double-ring triboelectric nanogenerator (DRTENG) and can achieve high disinfection efficiency within a short period of time. The system is independent of the power grid and has a low cost, making it suitable for use in remote areas or densely populated spaces such as hospitals and schools. This research has been peer-reviewed and has the potential to promote public health and family medical care. [Extracted from the article]
