Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada have developed a new design for magnetically actuated helical micro-robots that can transport cargo in Newtonian fluids without making contact with the cargo. These micro-robots have the potential to be used in medical procedures and drug delivery, as they can navigate through different types of fluids. The researchers propose a design consisting of three helical sections with alternating handedness, which can transport both straight filaments and those with intrinsic curvature or a spherical payload. This non-contact method of delivering cargo could lead to more effective micro-robots for medical applications. [Extracted from the article]
