Abstract
- A study published in the Bulletin of the Ecological Society of America examines the effects of fire on ant assemblages in an Australian tropical savanna. The study finds that different vertical strata of ants, including subterranean, leaf litter, ground-dwelling (epigeic), and arboreal assemblages, have varying responses to fire. Subterranean ants did not respond to fire, while leaf litter ants had a negative response and epigeic and arboreal ants had a positive response. The study provides valuable insights into the impact of fire on ant diversity in tropical environments. [Extracted from the article]
