Abstract

College students participating in regular physical activity may be better equipped to respond to disasters due to increased physical fitness and mental resilience. This study assessed the level of physical activity engagement and disaster preparedness among college students, examined the relationship between physical activity engagement and disaster preparedness, and informed interventions to promote healthier lifestyles and effective disaster response on campuses. The descriptive-correlational survey method was employed to investigate demographic profiles, levels of physical activity engagement, and disaster preparedness among college students. Furthermore, the findings showed a significant relationship between physical activity engagement and disaster preparedness among college students. Thus, the researchers recommended future researchers as a reference point, expanding upon its findings through additional studies or exploring different aspects of physical activity engagement and disaster preparedness among college students.
