Abstract

Aluminum and its alloys are essential in construction due to their lightweight nature and recyclability. To enhance durability, protection against corrosion is vital, with cataphoretic painting being particularly effective. This study evaluated the damage rate of cataphoresis coatings on AW 1050 H24 aluminum, focusing on the impact of different degreasing solutions. By analyzing temperature, concentration, and deposition time, the study found that concentrations above 5.25 % degrade surface quality due to aluminum dissolution, while temperatures between 37 °C and 50 °C are optimal. At higher temperatures, shorter deposition times improve quality, whereas longer times lead to defects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
