Abstract

Purpose: In this paper, the effects of different activation methods on the reactivity and hydration properties of fluorite tailings were studied for the purpose of resource utilization of fluorite tailings. Method; In this paper, three methods of heat treatment, mechanical grinding and combined excitation were used to stimulate the activity of fluorite tailings, and it was used as an admixture to prepare cement paste, and its reactivity and hydration properties were evaluated. Result: After mechanical excitation and alkali-thermal excitation, fluorite tailings can exhibit certain reactivity, and significant amorphous glass phase can be observed. The strength of cement paste prepared with fluorite tailings as admixture increased by more than 20%. Conclusion: Mechanical excitation increases the specific surface area and decreases the particle size, which is conducive to the participation of fluorite tailings in hydration reaction, produces the micro-aggregate effect, plays a filling role, and improves the compressive strength of cement paste mixed with fluorite tailings. The alkali-heat-activated fluorite tailings are hydraulically [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
