Abstract

Vancouver grain terminal workers have reached a tentative agreement to end their strike, which began on Tuesday. The negotiations were overseen by Canada's Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The terminals will reopen on Saturday morning, and a ratification vote will take place by October 4. The strike had the potential to prevent about 100,000 metric tons of grain from arriving at the port's terminals each day, resulting in a daily potential loss of C$35 million ($26 million). This strike is part of a series of labor disruptions in Canada in recent months. [Extracted from the article]
