Abstract
- The variability of the nucleotide sequence of the cytochrome b gene from mtDNA of Amur sleeper (Perccottus glenii Dubowski, 1877) inhabiting reservoirs of the Irtysh basin has been studied. The genetic diversity of invasive populations from the south part of Western Siberia and Northern Kazakhstan has been evaluated. Ten mtDNA haplotypes of P. glenii have been revealed, including nine from Siberia and two from Kazakhstan. A significant difference between the haplotypes of Amur sleeper inhabiting lakes of Northern Kazakhstan and the Berdyuzhye district of Tyumen oblast, on one hand, and other studied reservoirs of the Irtysh basin, on the other hand, has been revealed. The obtained data indicate the presence of different sources of the Amur sleeper invasion into Southern Siberia and Northern Kazakhstan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
