Abstract
- The analysis of an intact elastic layer resting on a flexible foundation subjected to patch-loads moving with a constant velocity, on the layer-free boundary, is carried out. Structural energy dissipation is modeled by viscous damping. Quasi-static analysis of edge dislocation is accomplished. Based on these solutions, integral equations are derived for a crack perpendicular to the boundary of layers under moving patch-loads. Dynamic excitation may partially/completely close the crack surface. Crack closing, in the absence of friction, is taken into account. The effects of load velocity and energy dissipation on crack stress intensity factors and opening displacement are investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
