Abstract

The work is devoted to an increase in the sensitivity and accuracy of the measuring characteristics of the vortex oscillation transducers of submersible vortex flowmeters by upgrading the shape of a bluff body. Based on the numerical simulation methods, it has been found that when the flow rate changes the stability of the Strouhal number, i.e., the error of the measurement method, is significantly affected by the shape of the bluff body facet, onto which the measured medium runs. The best results have been obtained with a facet made in the form of an obtuse triangle, which provides a reduction in changes in the Strouhal number by 40% relative to a simple flat surface. In this case, some reduction in the force effect of vortex formation on the vortex formation sensor does not exceed 10%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
