Abstract

Researchers from Tsinghua University have published a study on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), a type of cancer with limited sensitivity to conventional therapies. The study focused on the role of the intratumoral microbiota in PDAC and its impact on patient prognosis and the tumor microenvironment. The researchers found that the intratumor microbiota in PDAC tissue had lower diversity and distinct communities compared to non-tumor tissues. They also identified specific microorganisms associated with short or long survival in PDAC patients. The findings suggest that the microbiota may serve as a promising biomarker for predicting the prognosis of PDAC. [Extracted from the article]
