Abstract

A recent study conducted at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China examined the predictive value of hematological parameters for febrile neutropenia (FN) in patients with cancer. The study analyzed blood cell counts and clinical information from 4,130 patients with solid tumors who were undergoing chemotherapy. The researchers found that certain hematological markers, such as lower post-chemotherapy lymphocyte count and higher change percentage of post-chemotherapy neutrophil count, were associated with an increased risk of FN. These findings suggest that peri-chemotherapy hematological markers can improve the prediction of FN in cancer patients. [Extracted from the article]
